Sabouraud Dextrose Agar is an agar medium recommended for the isolation, cultivation and identification of non-pathogenic and pathogenic fungi. This medium contains cholamphenicol, a broad spectrum antibiotic, which is inhibitory to a wide range of Gram negative and Gram positive bacteria. The sealed bottle containing the dehydrated medium should be stored at 2°C to 30.0°C. Once opened and recapped, the container should be placed in a low humidity environment at the same storage temperature. It should be protected from moisture and light.
