This new bottle top vacuum filter is designed for use on glass or polystyrene media bottles with 33mm neck size to filter and store cell culture media, biological fluids, and other aqueous solutions. The filter consists of a 150mL polystyrene filter funnel with a 0.22µm pore size 13.6cm2 area CA membrane and a 33mm diameter polyethylene neck adaptor with hose connector. Cellulose acetate (CA) membranes provide fast flow rates and low protein binding and are good for filtering cell culture media. An angled hose connector simplifies vacuum line attachment. Each system has the membrane material and pore size printed on the unit and is color-coded by membrane type for easy product identification. Expiration date appears on the filter funnel and shipping boxes (expiration date of the membrane is three years from the time the product is manufactured).
