Details

Millipore Amicon® Ultra-4 centrifugal filter units provide your lab highly reproducible protein assay purification results without denaturing the sample, losing enzymatic activity or binding functions. They allow for concentration without compromising yields -- even if your sample is labile or low in abundance. These centrifugal filters feature a regenerated cellulose membrane which provides fast, gentle sample concentration, desalting and fractioning of your proteins and buffer exchanges. They provide high retentate recovery of greater than 90% with a heat-sealed membrane which minimizes downstream extractables. Concentration factors range between 80 to 100X. Amicon® Ultra-4 centrifugal filters are constructed with a styrene/butadiene housing, polypropylene centrifuge tube and a rigid polyethytlene cap and liner. 100% integrity tested for reliable performance. The vertical membrane reduces concentration polarization for ultra-fast spin times (as fast as 5-minutes). Applications include: 1) Concentration of biological samples containing antigens, antibodies, enzymes, nucleic acids, or microorganisms 2) Purification of macromolecular components found in tissue culture extracts or cell lysates and protein removal prior to HPLC 3) Concentration of dilute or pre-purified proteins from column eluents 4) Desalting, buffer exchange and protein dialysis 5) Size exclusion and protein fractionation
