The Whatman™ Nytran™ N45 nylon membrane is suitable for blotting applications that require a lower charge. It is designed for both Southern blotting and Northern blotting as well as colony lifts, plaque lifts and Dot-/Slot-Blots. Nytran™ N45 blotting membranes are compatible with both isotopic and nonisotopic detection methods. These membranes allow for excellent signal-to-noise ratios. The membrane is cast uniformly on both sides of a support matrix, demonstrating excellent symmetry. This gives the membrane the ability to lie flat without curling. Blotting membranes deliver a consistent, uniform pore size and distribution. These fine pore sizes provide for optimal retention of oligos and larger DNA fragments.
