Nalgene® plastic vacuum desiccators are lightweight and unbreakable. These laboratory desiccators are ideal for both vacuum and non-vacuum applications and are a safe and economical alternative to glass desiccators. Will not shatter or implode at full vacuum when used in accordance to instruction manuals which are included with the desiccator.
Unbreakable vacuum-desiccator holds a vacuum of 740 mm of mercury (29”) for 24 hours. A neoprene “O” ring in groove of bottom section gives an excellent seal with upper section. The vacuum retention valve (not barbed) allows air to enter slowly to prevent damage to the samples inside. Removable pan holds calcium chloride or other drying agents and is non-corrosive.
Scienceware® economy plastic vacuum desiccators feature a space saving design and provide maximum interior clearances. These economical desiccators will remain air tight even when not under vacuum. A polypropylene stopcock with a Teflon® TFE plug turns smoothly allowing a slow, gentle entrance of air preventing unnecessary turbulence and crucible damage. Desiccator lids include a neoprene O-ring gasket seal which do not require stopcock grease. However, stopcock grease may be used for a more secure seal and will not harm the gasket or desiccator. Desiccator plates inserted rest on the retaining ledge of the bottom section and feature a center hole for easy removal.
Globe Scientific desiccators has a transparent polycarbonate cover and base. Durable with high impact resistance. Will safely withstand high vacuum pressures. Ceramic plate permits the use of incandescent crucibles.
