The Corning® bottle top vacuum filter is designed for use on glass or polystyrene media bottles with either a 33mm or 45mm neck size to filter and store cell culture media, biological fluids, and other aqueous solutions. The filter consists of a polystyrene filter funnel with your choice of a variety of membrane filters with varying pore sizes. A polyethylene neck adaptor with hose connector is integrally designed in to the bottle top filter. An angled hose connector simplifies vacuum line attachment required to use the bottle top filter. Each bottle top filter system has the membrane material and pore size printed on the unit and is color-coded by membrane type for easy product identification. Expiration date appears on the filter funnel and shipping boxes (expiration date of the membrane is three years from the time the product is manufactured). The smaller filter unit is able to filter up to 10 Liters of liquid through a low protein binding, fast flow 0.22µm Millipore Express membrane. The larger unit is able to filter up to 20 Liters of liquid or media. Each fitler unit has an integral filling bell for aseptic bottle top filling. filter units also feature a manually operated upstream air vent to prevent the membrane filter from being arrested in an air lock. These Millipore filter units are maufactured and packaged sterile and ready to connect to a pump or pressure vessel.
