The Argos StarFire XT offers a safe alternative to standard laboratory Bunsen Burner. The stainless steel body and compact size make it ideal for use in laminar flow hoods. Can be operated with standard house gas or with an integrated gas cartridge (sold separately). As an added safety feature the XT model includes an overheating protection system that automatically shuts off the gas should the unit overheat. Gas supply is also cut off if the flame is extinguished for any reason. Burner head can be easily removed for cleaning any spilled liquids. The StarFire XT can be operated in three modes: manual mode (flame is ignited and extinguished by pressing knob), footswitch mode, or infrared sensor mode for convenient hands free operation. In sensor mode the flame ignites when hand passes over the sensor; as an extra safety precaution, the sensor mode can be turned off completely or set to ignite only after the sensor is activated twice, preventing accidental ignitions. Each mode can be set to run continuously for up to 60 minutes. The XT is supplied with a rechargeable battery making it completely portable when used with the gas cartridge. All functions are easily controlled by the intuitive graphical user interface. Includes: power supply, 3.6V NiMH battery pack, two nozzles (propane & butane/natural gas) and gas tubing adapter.
