Details
Scienceware® Disposable Activated Charcoal Disks absorb the volatile 35S radioactive component before it can escape from the Petri dish during metabolic labeling experiments. These sterile filter paper disks are saturated with activated charcoal. Prior to metabolic labeling, the disk is set in the top half of the 100mm Petri dish lid. Following the addition of any 35S labeled compound to the cell culture fluid, the Petri dish lid with the activated charcoal disk is placed over the bottom half of the Petri dish. The volatile radioactive compounds emitted in the metabolic labeling experiment are absorbed and immobilized by the charcoal disk. Charcoal Disks can also be used with Scienceware® Charcoal Cartridges (See Item #: BEL-F249890000). Place Scienceware® Charcoal Cartridges on incubator shelves to capture volatile radiolabels that may not have been captured by Petri dishes safeguarded with Charcoal Disks. Bel-Art #: F13557-0000
