This Corning® 384-well black polystyrene microplate has a round well design with clear flat bottoms. It has a 50µL total well volume and a recommended working volume of 5 to 40µL, with 2.8mm distance between well bottoms to plate bottom. The high base plate design is compatible with automation and for bar coding. It is validated by Molecular Devices for the FLIPR reader. Outer wells are aligned for proper viewing with FLIPR. It is ideal for miniaturized 384-well fluorescent homogeneous assays. The not treated (medium binding) polystyrene surface is hydrophobic in nature and binds biomolecules by interactions. Suitable primarily for the immobilization of large molecules, such as antibodies, that have large hydrophobic regions that can interact with the surface (binding capacity of approximately 100 to 200ng IgG/cm2).
