Samplers use self-contained dip testers to monitor microbiological organisms in liquids. There is no media mix, no agar plates to prepare, and nothing to sterilize or clean. Testing has three easy steps: sample, incubate, count. Results are available in 1 to 7 days depending on the application. Recoveries are equivalent to pour plates, streak plates, and open funnels filtration in some cases. The only other equipment needed is an incubator. The target microorganisms for this test sampler are yeast and mold. Yeast colonies appear satiny, opaque, white colored or may turn green over time. Mold colonies appear white, green or brown/black and filamentous. Bacterial colonies may appear but are usually smaller and more glistening and transparent than the yeast colonies. Applications for this test sampler include beverage analysis, clinical lab, food and beverage. It has a storage temperature of 15°C - 30°C and an incubation temperature of 28°C - 32°C.
