Thermo Scientific™ Nalgene™ 180 Clear Plastic Tubing, Vacuum Tubing and Metric Tubing are made of PVC (polyvinyl chloride) and contain DEHP [Bis(2-ethylhexyl)] phthalate, a commonly used plasticizer. This chemical is on the California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) Proposition 65 list indicating it is known to causes cancer or reproductive toxicity.
To better serve our customers, Nalgene™ has introduced a new Non-Phthalate PVC Tubing, available starting February 24, 2020. This new non-phthalate PVC tubing provides the same performance as Nalgene 180 PVC tubing, but the DEHP plasticizer has been replaced with an orthophthalate-free plasticizer that is both REACH compliant and not listed as a compound of concern by California Proposition 65.
