This Owl® S4S T-Rex™ Aluminum Backed Sequencing Vertical Electrophoresis System is an easy to use manual sequencer with a 20cm wide width that makes this system small enough to store while featuring a full 45cm run length. The S4S system provides smile-free, high resolution sequencing gels. The 'floating' aluminum plate allows contact with the entire surface of the glass plates, providing a leak-free seal and uniform heat distribution without overtightening the clamps. This floating heat sink reduces the likelihood of plates cracking during sequencing runs. The S4S system features a safety interlocking lid and a removable lower buffer chamber (LBC) for improved safety. The upper buffer chamber (UBC) drains via an in-line stopcock drain port into a removable, lightweight container on the back for easy buffer disposal and storage. Full length side clamps press gel plates against a U-shaped silicone gasket seated on the UBC to provide a reliable, leakproof seal between the plate and the gasket and apply even pressure across the entire plate. Clamps slide over the glass plates for easy set up and removal of gels.
