The Whatman™ Lysate Clarification UNIFILTER® filtering microplate can utilize either a vacuum or a centrifuge. This method filters out cell debris to obtain plasmid DNA in the aqueous phase. Whatman™ filter technology results in high particle retention and fast flow rates while producing a clean lysate. The Lysate Clarification UNIFILTER® filtering microplate is an important tool for high-throughput plasmid DNA purification. The Whatman™ 96-Well x 800µL UNIFILTER® is also the filtering microplate most typically used in purifications, isolations, and separations of biomolecules, particularly DNA. The well volume of 800µL is optimal for standard DNA plasmid miniprep chemistries. The UNIFILTER®800µL filter bottom microplate is constructed from rigid, high grade clear polystyrene. Filter bottom microplate includes Whatman’s integral, patented Long-Drip Director design which eliminates well-to-well contamination during the filtration process.
