These sterile cloning cylinders are designed specifically for clone isolation. A small amount of grease is smeared on the tapered end of the cylinder and the cylinder is placed on the clone chosen for segregation. A small aliquot of Trypsin or EDTA is added to the cylinder, and after a brief incubation at 37° C the cells lose attachment. After harvesting these detached cells within the cylinder they can be moved to another vessel for propagation.
