The risk of pollution and potential root and tissue injury is greatly mitigated as a wide range of plant tissue cultures can therefore be accomplished in a single container without having to relocate tissue from one container to another. Nutrient and oxygen absorption is enhanced since tissue rests on a floating explant support that holds the tissue in continuous contact with the medium.
