IW Tremont's venting and filtering ThIn-Line filter units are a unique series of economical and reliable in-line filtration units ideally suited for venting applications and filtration of fluidic volumes too large for syringe filters. The transparent inlet side allows a visual indication of filter loading. These in-line filter units are ultrasonically welded and can withstand light-duty vacuum pressure (<70cm/Hg) or positive pressure (50psi). Each in-line filter is operated with the "clear" side as the inlet and the opaque white side as the outlet. Inline filters are connected using the stepped hose barbs or via a standard slip-port syinge filter inserted in to the clear side step barb.
Applications for Use:
Venting of carboys, stir bottles and reservoir tanks
Venting of bioreactor low-pressure reactor flasks
Vacuum or positive pressure filtration applications
Tank to smaller vessel transfers
Filtration of media or broth
Very low back-pressure with even wetting and linear flow rates
Benefits include:
30% less expensive than typical heavy-duty over-molded designed in-line filters
Highly chemical resistant polypropylene housing
Very low extractables commonly known to cause background noise within analysis applications
Ultrasonically welded with no use of adhesives or solvents
Pure virgin 100% polypropylene housing construction without pigments or dye
100% made in the USA and Quality Assurance tested using a 12-point pre- and post-manufactured methodology
IW Tremont in-line vacuum pump protective filters are high-quality and cost-effective. They are pre-sterilized and feature a 50mm diameter PTFE membrane filter with your choice of either 0.22um or 0.45um porosity. These in-line vacuum pump filters are designed to help isolate and trap bacteria and other infectious agents within vacuum systems used throughout the laboratory or production line.
Features:
Pre-sterilized and individually-packaged
Includes 50mm diameter PTFE membrane filter with your choice of 0.22um or 0.45um porosity.
Recommended for protection of vacuum pump systems from gas contaminants and solvent vapors and aerosols containing bacterial and other infectious materials
Designed for "in-line" use with stepped hose barb connectors which accept 1/4-inch to 3/8-inch tubing and a reinforced port base for strength
Applications:
Protects vacuum systems from pathogen contaminants and vacuum pumps from aerosol corrosion
Sterile gas introduction to bioreactors and culture vessels
Venting of bioreactors, fermentation tanks and carboys
Filtration of aggresive solvents in volumes beyond normal syringe filter capacity
Protects lab and production work areas from airborne pathogens and hazardous pump exhaust or venting
IW Tremont offers a unique, aqueous, in-line filter device ideal for dissolved heavy metals analysis based on the 50mm in-line filtration platform. Groundwater in-line filters are available in two version; Either "Low Metals" or "Very Low Metals". Both versions of this unique in-line groundwater filter unit features a quartz microfiber pre-filter which has inherently low metal content and provides a squeaky-clean background signature in ground water dissolved heavy metals analysis methods. The "Very Low Metals" version is proprietary HT technology which employs a complex annealing process to further reduce leaching of the quartz fiber, thereby reducing extractable background signature.
The quartz microfiber pre-filter also affords the ability to pass larger fluidic volume through the in-line filter device before any clogging or plugging occurs at the Nylon membrane stage. The 50mm diameter surface of these filters provides a large filter surface area with a high soil absorption capacity. The groundwater in-line filter unit is operated with the clear side as the inlet and white side as outlet. The unit may be connected in-line via the stepped hose barbs or with a standard slip port syringe filter inserted into clear side stepped hose barb. This in-line groundwater filter unit demonstrates excellent lot-to-lot reproducibility and is routinely verified against a standard using analysis techniques such as gas chromatography, TGA & DSC. Manufactured in the USA.
