Pyrex hubridization tubes are furnished complete with a Corning® standard GL 45 orange plug-seal cap. A silicone O-ring is used to ensure a leak-resistant seal. An optional Corning vented membrane cap is available for low temperature assays. Non-Sterile. Reusable. Material: Borosilicate Glass Code 7740. The Wheaton glass hybridization bottle with Polybutylene Terephthalate screw cap is manufactured from borosilicate glass that conforms to USP Type I requirements and features heavy 3.2mm sidewalls for added safety. Used in nucleic acid and protein blotting procedures that require a minimum of probe solution. Eliminates the need for messy bags and allow hybridization and wash solutions to be quickly poured in and out. They fit many hybridization ovens such as Barnstead, Hybaid and Bellco. Hybridization bottles are available in plain glass co or Plastisol* safety-coated glass construction.
The Kontes® hybridization tube with a screw cap is for use with hybridization incubators with rotators. The tubes offer a cleaner and safer alternative to hybridizing in bags. Multiple Northern, Southern or Western blots (up to 5 per tube) can be hybridized in a single tube, using nylon mesh sheets to separate the hybridization membranes. Probe volumes are significantly reduced with tubes; approximately 5mL of probe per blot. Use one long (300mm) tube per rotator position or two short (150mm) tubes per position (one tube per clamp) in most standard hybridization incubators. Tubes are complete with 45mm polypropylene caps and silicone O-rings to ensure a leak-resistant seal.
