The Nalgene® plastic separatory funnel is manufactured from virgin polypropylene and furnished complete with a Teflon® TFE stopcock and housing which has a phase interface that is visible down to the stopcock. The plastic separatory funnel and screw closure are chemically inert, translucent and fully autoclavable for sterile applications. The separatory funnels have no known solvents at room temperature. Polypropylene plastic separatory funnels are susceptible to softening and swelling from strong oxidizers and aggressive solvents. The Teflon® stopcock assembly has excellent chemical resistance is leakproof and does not require lubrication. Disinfect chemically. Nalgene 4300 Series.
The Nalgene® Teflon® separatory funnel is break-resistant, transparent, non-stick for easy cleaning, non-wetting for complete draining and impervious most to any chemical it contains. The separatory funnel is an economical answer to continual replacement of fragile and expensive glass separatory funnels. Phase interface of even colorless liquids is visible. These separatory funnels be used with mechanical shakers if a hose clamp is put over stopcock insertion area. Closure and stopcock are leakproof. Stopcock assembly is easily removed for cleaning.
