When Lee Williams founded Capitol Scientific in 1963, little did he know he was building a company that would span multiple generations. Lee’s future grandson, Felix Ware, would expand the business far beyond what Lee built those 60 years ago. Felix joined Lee at Capitol Scientific in 1990, running sales and operations until purchasing the company from his grandfather in 2000. Over the last two decades, Capitol Scientific has flourished under Felix’s vision and leadership, especially in technology-related improvements. The company has been ranked in the Austin Business Journal’s Fast 50 and has made Inc. 5000’s List of America’s Fastest Growing Private Companies for several consecutive years. The Austin Business Journal has honored Felix for the great work he has done with the business that he owns and the legacy he continues to lead.
Chief Executive Officer
As Capitol Scientific’s executive leader, Dean has overall responsibility of all day-to-day operations. He has decades of experience in C-Suite positions of national b2c and b2c companies, allowing him to make meaningful contributions to growing and improving sales, finance, legal, HR, IT and warehouse operations. Dean’s expertise in transforming mid-market businesses was well received when he joined the company in 2021. He has created and retooled key staff positions to prepare Capitol Scientific for rapid growth and strategic expansion. Dean encourages the entire team to stay hyper-focused on Capitol Scientific’s Customer First philosophy.
Financial Controller
Mysti heads the finance, accounting and purchasing departments for Capitol Scientific, bringing a wealth of expertise and leadership. With a Bachelor of Science degree, a Master of Business Administration, and a Master’s degree in Management and Leadership, Mysti has established a successful track record for fostering rapid growth in small to mid-market businesses. She is particularly adept at developing and leading high-performing teams, and she knows how to get ‘more’ done with ‘less’. Additionally, Mysti manages Capitol’s HR operations. One of her main areas of focus has been managing vendor relations with more than 300 companies that work with Capitol every day. Outside of work, Mysti's passion lies in animal rescue initiatives. She loves positively impacting both the people and the animals she works with.
Chief Revenue Officer
Troy serves as the Chief Revenue Officer, leading Capitol’s sales and commercial initiatives. He is keenly focused on driving growth, operational alignment between departments, and most of all, customer success. Troy brings extensive experience guiding teams and executing strategies that support scalable, sustainable business performance. Troy’s background in the chemical warehousing industry gives him a deep-rooted understanding of how important logistics management is to the end-user. Troy has played a key role in transforming mid-market organizations through disciplined sales leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and a strong emphasis on long-term value creation for both company and its customers.
Data Manager
Destiny proudly manages Capitol Scientific’s team responsible for all Data Mining, Reporting, KPIs, Technical Marketing, and IT. Just one interaction with Destiny, and you’ll see that helping people through data is her passion. Whether it is reporting on highly complex part numbers or coordinating a multi-faceted sales report, Destiny does it all. Her outgoing yet calming personality, combined with her “let’s solve this” attitude, comes from her time as a Customer Service leader with Tesla and having done a remarkable job managing Capitol Scientific’s Customer Service Team for many years.Her education includes technical coursework while attending Blinn College.Destiny is a proud US Army Veteran where her experience in teamwork and problem-solving pays big dividends for internal and external customers alike.
Senior Account Manager
Jennie joined Capitol Scientific in 2020 utilizing her background in biochemical academic research to find solutions for customers during the height of the supply chain disruption. A former laboratory manager, she understands the urgency of finding products to keep labs and manufacturing facilities running, especially during unprecedented times like supply chain delays and the global pandemic. Jennie's ability to understand her customers’ needs allows her to offer creative solutions and alternative options for any chemical or laboratory product. Jennie works closely with our logistics teams to ensure clients have access to the products they need, when they need them, and at competitive prices.
Senior Account Manager
With over a decade of experience at Capitol Scientific, Jessica is a trusted and tenured part of our team. She has established lasting relationships with both customers and vendors. Along the way, Jessica has developed deep expertise in navigating supply chains, particularly within the chemical and semiconductor sectors. She is recognized for her ability to identify alternatives, anticipate challenges, and create solutions before issues arise. Her knowledge of ethanol regulations and vendor production processes allows her to provide customers with timely solutions that are both reliable and effective. Capitol Scientific trusts Jessica to manage our very top tier customers, and for those who are fortunate to work with her, they will have someone who is constantly adapting to meet their needs first.
Outside Sales Manager
Bob is a dedicated sales professional with a passion for the physical and life sciences, bringing his expertise to the Capitol Scientific team. With a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry, he has built a career in technical sales, serving clients in the semiconductor and industrial chemical sectors. Based in North Carolina’s thriving biotechnology region, Bob stays at the forefront of innovations such as plant-based medicines, regenerative agriculture, and alternative fuels. He excels at helping professionals identify the right solutions for their research and production needs. Known for his active listening, thorough preparation, and customer-focused mindset, Bob builds lasting relationships grounded in trust and mutual success. His attention to detail and commitment to service enable him to consistently meet and exceed client expectations.
Outside Sales Manager
After earning her Bachelor of Science degree with a Minor in Health and Biology from West Chester University, Ava entered the scientific supply industry and quickly made an impact. In just over two years, she distinguished herself as Direct Sales Representative of the Year, which recognized her ability to build strong customer relationships. Through hard work, dedication, and a customer-first approach, Ava grew a new account into one of her top customers in under nine months; a testament to her commitment to service and results. Ava never hesitates to pick up the phone, never lets an email go unanswered, and takes pride in being available whenever her customers need her. She is based out of the Philadelphia area, but her reach extends nationwide.
Outside Sales Manager
From the time he was young, Wilson knew that he wanted to be a scientific professional. Step one was to earn his BA and MS in Biomedical Sciences. Next, he jumped right into Outside Sales, building a dedicated customer-focused strategy that led him to consistently exceed sales goals. Wilson then brought that combined experience of scientific knowledge and sales acumen to Capitol Scientific in 2021. He continues to deliver unprecedented customer service to his clients, putting their needs first, and striving to get them the best pricing and fastest delivery options. Wilson is based in Dallas, Texas, but he handles customer accounts all over the country with a special focus on Silicon Valley.
Sales Manager
Simply put, Hannah loves everything about science, making her perfect for her position with Capitol Scientific. A graduate of North Carolina State University, Hannah majored in Polymer and Color Chemistry with a concentration in Medical Sciences and a minor in Biological Sciences. Hannah’s time in sales has helped her and her customers gain valuable knowledge about the industry. Hannah continues to help her customers navigate the very complex steps in the laboratory and chemical supply chain. In addition to her impressive education and sales background, Hannah also worked in a research laboratory so she would understand the needs of scientific customers. Sales Manager
Taylor joined Capitol Scientific in late 2021, bringing with him a diverse background that includes law enforcement, hotel management, and home remodeling sales. Transitioning into lab distribution during the pandemic, he discovered a passion for customer service and problem-solving within the scientific industry. Now in his fourth year in sales and his third year supporting Capitol's customers directly, Taylor has established himself as a reliable industry partner. While at Capitol, he has maintained the highest customer service standards score for one of the world's largest MROs. Through these experiences, he learned that consistency and accuracy are crucial to maintaining the smooth operation of complex systems. Taylor’s approachable personality and great sense of humor help give his customers a little levity in an often- stressful industry.
