This Corning® 96-well black polystyrene microplate has clear flat bottom wells with a 360µL total well volume and a recommended working volume of 75 to 200µL. Bottom is 60% thinner than conventional polystyrene plates, resulting in lower background fluorescence and enabling readings down to 340nm. It is designed to reduce well-to-well crosstalk during fluorescent assays, and can be used for both top and bottom reading instruments. Not treated (or medium binding) polystyrene surface is hydrophobic in nature and binds biomolecules through passive interactions. The microplate is suitable primarily for the immobilization of large molecules, such as antibodies, that have large hydrophobic regions that can interact with the surface.
