The Millipore Mitex™ filter is an unsupported hydrophobic PTFE membrane filter disc. Filters are ideal for clarifiying acids, bases, cryogenic fluids and reagent chemical solutions. They are also recommended for clarifying propellants, analyzing hydraulic fluids and isolating RNA. These PTFE membrane filters can be used under extreme chemical or temperature conditions that other fibrous or cellulostic membranes cannot withstand. Maximum operating temperature for these PTFE membrane filters is 260°C. Membrane filters are hydrophobic and chemically inert. This makes these filters compatible with virtually all reagent chemicals, solvents, acids, and alkaline solutions. PTFE filters can be rendered to be hydrophilic membranes by wetting them with methanol or any other low surface tension liquid. Filter Surface: White & Smoth
