Pure ethanol 200 proof (ethyl alcohol) has an assay of 99.98 - 99.99% and is designed for industrial, pharmaceutical, flavor and fragrance, or laboratory use. Ethyl alcohol is a clear liquid with a mild to strong, rather pleasant odor like wine or whiskey and a pungent, burning taste.

It is also known as ethanol, absolute ethanol, anhydrous ethyl alcohol, undenatured ethanol, and dehydrated alcohol. It is readily soluble in cold or hot water and in methanol, diethyl ether, and acetone.
